We are known as CICM-Missionaries, responding to God's call from different parts of the world to serve in different countries with the spirit of universal brotherhood.

The Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary ( Congregatio Immaculati Cordis Mariae ) is an exclusively international religious missionary Institute. It was founded in 1862 in Scheut, Belgium by Rev. Theophile Verbist, a Belgian priest whose heart was filled with a missionary zeal to serve the Chinese people.

Committing ourselves entirely to the proclamation of the Good News wherever a missionary presence is most needed, especially among the people where the Gospel is not known or lived.
We are spread all over the world:
Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Mongolia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Senegal, Zambia, Chad, Guatemala, Honduras, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Belgium, the Netherlands, the United States, Germany, France, Mexico and Rome, Italy.

ONE CALL, ONE RESPONSE

We come from different countries and cultures; our desire to follow Jesus Christ and our commitment to the mission He entrusted to the Church unite us in view of God's coming Reign.

ONE MISSION, VARIOUS WAYS

We present ourselves at the service of existing Christian communities and collaborate with local leadership in Church and society. We endeavor for the growth of the communities and their formation to become "light and salt" to society at large.

We foster knowledge of and interest in the country's religious traditions in view of mutual enrichment and collaboration. Through publications we reach people who ask existential questions and try to answer them.

We journey with youth in schools and youth movements, and discover with them their possibilities and strive to each one in his line with God's message of love.

We collaborate with groups, both local and international, to promote the well-being and dignity of people and the material and spiritual progress of human societies.

ONE HEART, ONE SOUL

We continue to read together, in a spirit of prayer and openness, the "sign of the times" and search for new ways and possibilities of proclaiming God's word.

We strive to respect each one's strengths and weaknesses, and support one another's efforts to evangelize ourselves and the society.

We share resources and experiences in order to strengthen each other's participation in the corporate commitment of our CICM Province.

CICM-Japan Headquarters

This is our motto "One Heart, One Soul". In Japanese characters, it goes from right to left and it sounds "doushindoui". You can find it beautifully written and placed in the lobby of our Provincial House.

Our dear-to-heart Provincial House is a very old but antique ( about 80 years old ) building. It is located in Himeji City and very close to Himeji Castle, one of the famous Preserved World Heritage in Japan. If you happen to visit our Provincial House, you will find a mixture of both the East and the West. As a mother-house for all CICM in Japan who are known as "JUNSHINKAI" in Japanese, we are always welcome by the residents of the house, namely Frs. Provincial (Edgar Gacutan), Rector of Provincial House (will come soon), and Provincial Treasurer (Michael Dulnuan).
